Exhibition 'Esthetics of the selftimer' open longer + finissage

Our current exhibition 'Esthetics of the selftimer and other works with found images' will be open a little longer still. We decided to keep the show open for one extra weekend, after many good responses and requests to do so. Opening times are: Sat. 16 March 12.00 - 17.00 and Sun. 17 March 12.00 - 18.00. We finish this great exhibition with a drink on Sun. 17 from 16.00. Come join us!

We hope we'll be having the pleasure of seeing you at BERM coming weekend.

Esthetics of the self timer and other works with found images

Solo exhibition by Maarten Rots, BERM Amsterdam, March 2013.

Rots has made several new installations in the rooms of BERM. These works are based on found slides and images found online.
Rots uses the found footage in a new context, he's combining slides to create new images, and he presents striking repetitives and resemblances in images from different backgrounds.
This results in a beautiful cinematic re-construction of a livingroom from the 70's and a wunderkammer with objets trouvés.

New dates!

We are pleased to announce the first three Artists who will show their new works at BERM this year:

Olfa Ben Ali, a French Video and Video-Installation Artist.
She will work during a residency of 2 months at BERM and show a new video installation in June 2013!

Maarten Rots, a Dutch Video and Photography Artist.
He started working at BERM today! The 1st of March he will present his found photographs, slides and other film material in a short weekend exhibition: 'The Esthetics of the self-timer and other works with found images'.
